Project Info

The Islamic Cultural Center in Mahut is a purpose-driven architectural project established to serve the Muslim community in Sweden while promoting cultural dialogue and interfaith understanding. The development includes a mosque that meets the spiritual needs of the community and a cultural wing dedicated to education, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

The design approach integrates traditional Islamic elements—such as geometric motifs, open courtyards, and orientation to Qibla—with modern Scandinavian sensibilities, ensuring the project respects local urban fabric, environmental context, and building regulations.

AlSadim Architects & Consultants delivered a comprehensive package covering architectural concept and development, structural and MEP engineering, landscape integration, and tender documentation, resulting in a facility that is both spiritually uplifting and contextually harmonious.

CONCEPT FOR PROJECT
The design concept embraces the duality of identity — integrating traditional Islamic architectural values with the minimalism and functionality of Scandinavian design. Inspired by the principles of openness, spirituality, and cultural dialogue, the center is conceived as a space of unity and reflection. The mosque embodies sacred geometry and serene spatial flow, while the cultural wing facilitates educational and interfaith exchange. The project respects Swedish urban context and environmental considerations, using natural materials, soft daylighting, and a human-centric landscape to create a dignified and welcoming civic presence.
