ALIAA Lounge Renovation
A restaurant renovation nestled inside a public park, blending architecture and nature to deliver a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience in the heart of Cairo.Concept
The renovation of ALIAA Lounge was conceived as a dialogue between built form and natural landscape. The design sought to dissolve the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a fluid spatial experience that celebrates the café’s unique position within a public park.
Key conceptual drivers included:
- Landscape Integration – Preserving mature trees and allowing greenery to define the architectural edges.
- Indoor-Outdoor Continuity – Reconfiguring terraces and glazing to enhance visual and physical connections.
- Public Realm Sensitivity – Designing in harmony with the park’s accessibility and community character.
- Material Harmony – Selecting a soft, earthy palette to complement the natural setting.
